Installing Contextadmin
Choose the interactive setup or pass the parameters directly in the command.
Interactive installer
Download the script to the server and run it as an administrator:
curl -fsSL https://dist.contextadmin.com/setup -o setup.sh
sudo bash setup.shAnswer six questions about the purpose of the machine, access to the panel, software, installation source, license key and administrator password. Pressing Enter accepts the suggestion in brackets. Review the summary and confirm the settings before the actual installation starts.
This variant requires running the downloaded file. Do not pipe it through curl … | bash: the pipe takes over the standard input needed for your answers. The script detects this and refuses to run.
Choose components
The installer asks which tools to install. Docker is required to run containerized project environments; the other components (Claude Code, Codex, opencode, Ollama) can be added right away or later by running the installer again. Without a domain, the panel will be available at an IP address with a self-signed certificate that the browser will not trust; you can also provide access through an SSH tunnel.
Save the first login details
After installation you will see the panel address, the user name admin and a password. The password is shown only once, and the panel keeps only its hash. If you need to set a different one:
sudo /opt/contextadmin/bin/contextadmin-panel --set-admin-passwordRunning the installer again and the certificate
You can run the installer again to update the panel or repair the installation. It keeps your data, license and projects. Before requesting a certificate, it checks DNS. If the record does not point to the server yet, fix it, wait for propagation and run the installation again. Failed certificate requests count toward the issuer’s rate limits.
