License activation and validity
Where to find the key, how renewal works and what to do after changing machines.
Enter the key for your installation
After purchase, copy the key from the client panel or the email message. Enter it at first start or pass it to the installer as CONTEXTADMIN_LICENSE_KEY.
Background access renewal
On activation, the panel obtains a signed lease valid for 14 days. It renews the lease every 12 hours. This means a temporary outage of the license server does not interrupt your work right away.
- With a working connection, renewals happen automatically.
- Without a network connection, the panel uses the last lease until it expires, for up to 14 days from issue.
- After the license expiry date, an additional 14-day grace period applies.
- When the grace period ends, the panel rejects requests with status code 402.
Projects after expiry
Expiry blocks management through the panel. It does not delete data or stop containers and websites. They remain on your server.
Data used during activation
The license server receives the license identifier and a machine fingerprint created from the system identifier, host name and IP address. The mechanism does not send the contents of projects, databases, conversations or work statistics.
Changing servers and activation errors
The limit applies to concurrent installations. When moving, release the previous machine in the client panel, then activate the key on the new one.
- A key without an expiry date is rejected; use your current key.
- If the limit is exceeded, release an unused installation or buy another one.
- If the license has been revoked, contact support. Because of the lease, revocation can take up to 14 days to take effect.
